S2 - More Finch theory

Postby Finchy » 26. July 2012, 23:38

I wish I had come up with this...! :|

But no....this is a theory put forth on one of the POI facebook sites.
It actually pulls together bits and pieces of information about S2 and other theories that have been bandied about.

Here's how it goes:
--Finch made specific comments that while Root got into his system, the Machine was not compromised.
--The director, Jon Cassar: (Jon Cassar‏@joncassar Jul 18 - Followers I need some help 4 my next project. Looking for some pictures of a library in any small town in Texas. Post them if you have em.)
--There is a call for women to portray a young woman in Texas flirting with a potential suitor:

--Nathan Ingram was from Texas....and we know from Wills comments to Finch that Ingram was divorced.
--Perhaps a fling by Ingram could have resulted in a child, who is now going after Finch as the one person who can tell her about her father.
--Finch may have been kidnapped because of his involvement with Ingram, rather than his creation of the Machine.
--Reese is either looking for or protecting the mother from Root.
--Episode 2 is entitled Bad Code. A murderous child could be called a bad seed (bad code).

Sounds like a reasonable theory to me! :)

It's an intriguing theory, but wouldn't Will Ingram have been able to tell her about Nathan, and have been an easier target?

What if neither Nathan nor Will knew about this child...?
That would be the only way this could work, right?

Amy Acker was born in 1976, so I would assume Turing is the same-ish age. Nathan died in at the age of 48. If she's 36 now , she was 34 when he died and he was 13 or 14 when she was conceived. :( Yeah, I'll buy that he was precocious, but ... OTOH, if if they make the character 32, then he might have been 18 ... I dunno. I think the whole Texas library thing is probably about Will's birth (when Ingram was 22-ish), not hers.

But I've been utterly wrong about such things before.

It could also be that Root also suspected Nathan did something for the government like Will did, and made conclusions that led to Finch...and now she wants answers

From the info coming out on twitter (casting calls, etc), it sounds like we will be getting some flashbacks on Root, and/or Nathan.
I'm going to bet that her kidnapping Finch was not because of his connection with the Machine... ;)

PS This board has been very quiet lately... :(

I agree with you, she says "we have so much to talk about" I'm not sure she means the Machine. I want to see more flashbacks on Finch

Yea I noticed that too...what's happening? :o

That sounds like quite a concept...Root having kidnapped Finch but not for the obvious reason...very clever! ;)
Finch: "About that...I don't like firearms very much"
Reese: "Well, neither do I ...but if someone has to have them ...I'd rather it was me!"
